On this #givingtuesday2022 a message from our partner, FamilyWorks Family Resource Center & Food Banks
FamilyWorks has been on the frontlines of community response throughout these difficult years, advocating for the safety and wellness of our city’s most marginalized residents every day. In the first three quarters of this year, FamilyWorks’ programs and services have reached nearly 8,000 people in our community, already a 13% increase over the number of families and neighbors we served in all of 2021. POWER OF COMMUNITY The power of our supportive community is seen in Huong’s story, a mother of two, whose family got hit hard during the pandemic. “I reached out to many organizations looking for help… FamilyWorks was the only one to respond to me… I got clothes for the baby, books for my older son, and supplies for my whole family… Everything I needed was in one place, and everyone made me feel so welcome.” – Huong VITAL ADAPTATIONS As each of us grapples with uncertainty and rising inflation, FamilyWorks finds new ways to show up for our community. When food donations are down, we grow our partnerships with local farms, providing the fresh, high-quality produce that our participants need. When families face barriers getting to our location, we pivot to reach families where they are, through our Mobile Food Pantry and Satellite Family Resource Center at Nathan Hale High School. CRITICAL MOMENT This is a critical moment for our community. Families are relying on us to provide the essential resources they need, and your donation is the difference in our ability to respond. Your support will help families build resilience, relationships, and a brighter future. Please consider making a personally significant gift today. Donate Today Sincerely, Marcia Wright-Soika Executive Director P.S. One last thing! Thanks to a generous neighbor, all one-time gifts of $150 or greater and monthly gifts of $15 or greater will be matched 1:1 up to $15,000, doubling your impact!
