Did you know that the time of year the U.S. holds general elections was determined by the harvest season and weather? It was decided that November fit nicely between harvest time and winter weather. And we would agree it fits nicely. Now go vote!!

It's amazing the transitions that can happen in a matter of weeks. For some of the #LandDonor yards, lawn lasagna will be happening, some will have chips, some will have.....all in preparation for another beautiful Spring!!
#2021GetHereFast #FeedYourCommunity #GreenLakeGrown #BitterLakeGrown #GreenwwodGrown #PhinneyRidgeGrown #LakeCityGrown #ColumbiaCityGrown In response to the hail last week and cold snap this weekend, we have had to make the tough decision to call the season. While we were hoping for a few more weeks, sometimes we must acquiesce to the ways of Mother Nature. But first, we want to thank each and every one of our LandDonors, CSA members, FreshList-ers and growing partners for supporting this renewed way of providing our community with healthy, organic food. Even if you did not place an order this season, the fact that you have shown interest is important and appreciated. We are proud to say that this year we saw growth in all manners - we experienced some of our most abundant harvests, the ability to reach a broader demographic, substantial family-sponsorships, and the wonderful feeling of increasing the amount of food we have been able to donate each week to FamilyWorks Family Resource Center & Food Banks - all because of your support! Of course, there have also been a few bumps in the road and we thank you for your patience as we navigated what it meant to have a family-owned and run small business in the time of covid. Please know we are dedicated to learning and improving and next season, there will be a few changes, based on your welcome feedback. So, what's next? From time-to-time, we will be sending out quick updates - as we do have some winter crops and we are planning for a Thanksgiving week delivery. Let us know if you'd like to be added to the list for this special one-off (delivery would happen that Tuesday). For those of you who are interested in providing the gift of good food during the Holiday Season - we are offering gift certificates, available now. Feel free to reach out to learn more! Still so lovely, so delicious and we are so thankful.

FamilyWorks Family Resource Center & Food Banks monthly newsletter, you will see a little shout out. Our intention is to continue to provide more and more contributions to FamilyWorks, as well as direct share deliveries to those families that have been sponsored by YOU, for the upcoming Spring season (planning is underway). This season was a true example of the power of intention and sharing resources. We could not have done it without our growing partnership with #StardustFarms. We are also grateful to the other food producers mentioned (and not mentioned) that have been able to support our community. Thank you!! #SharingIsCaring #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork https://mailchi.mp/.../april-2017-familyworks-e-news... Today marks the 1-trillionth day this magnificent human has been on the earth. Happy Birthday to one of the hardest working, integrous men I know. We love you, Jon!!
#LiveYourBestLife #WhereTheresAWillTheresAWay #HBD Beware of Carrot Pants...not to be confused with Carrot Top.
#BitterLakeGrown #24Carrots We really do work with some great people! Land Donors, Pat & Bob gave us this great cookbook. After all, aren't victory gardens a the original iteration to the urban garden mission. Bring back victory gardens!!!
#GrowYourFood #FeedYourCommunity #SeattleUrbanGardener As our season is slowing down, one of the many things Jon will miss is heading to #StardustFarms each week to harvest and talk with Rob & Andrea. They have been wonderful hosts to Jon and the kids during this very strange season of our collective lives. May the winter pass swiftly.
