Have you ever wondered what the process of transforming your yard may look like? Well here is a cool example of Matt L's yard. It is really flourishing and beautiful! In the coming days some of what is grown in this yard will be part of one of your deliveries. Sooo cool!!
#GreenLakeGrown #CommunityFood #UrbanFarming #SeattleIsReadyForChange #JonTheFarmerSeattle Erica G grew her first cauliflower and some other great veggies, too. She then proceeded to chef-the-heck out of it. Thanks for sharing - love a start success!!

#GrownInSeattle #FreshIsTheBest #BallardGrown #GreenLakeGrown #ColumbiaCityGrown #UrbanCSA #SummerCSA one of the changes we made this year, in response to COVID-19, was to forego the cute baskets of previous seasons, in favor of recyclable bags. This means once it is delivered, there is no concern about cross-contamination because you no longer are trading out the baskets. The nice thing, we still offer a beautiful esthetic for you. To safety!!
Our boy is proud of the wheat he grew! This was a project that began at his school in his science class, prior to the closure. We transplanted it and look at it now. Makes a for a sweet way to remember his teachers and friends. Success!!
From time to time, we find the need to re-introduce ourselves and let you in on a few secrets that make Jon the Farmer - Urban Farmer what we are....about 3 years ago, we began this journey of feeding our immediate community fresh, organic veggies & fruit that was grown IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD! With the support of our Land Donors (like Anita & Bj, Betty & Julianna - to name a few), we have been able to expand into other neighborhoods and spread this good work. As of now, we work with 19 Land Donors, one small farm (Stardust Farms) and some great food partners (Lagana Foods & Rainy Day Bees)!!
So how does it work? Well, we would be pulling the wool if we said it was easy. Each yard has it's own strengths and challenges, and because we do not use pesticides, but rather work with what nature already has going on, each order we deliver will take on it's own look. One week we may have 25 salad servings, and 12 squash, 42 carrots and 1 bok choy. Some of your food will have been harvested 2 days ago or 20 minutes before it hits your doorstep. You will see the wonderful remnants of Mother Earth at the roots of your turnips. You may have a few nibbles from the very creatures that help keep the soil naturally toiled. Heck....you might find a little guy from time-to-time (wash your produce)... But what you won't find is chemicals or food grown without intention. You won't find waste in what we do, either - as we deliver weekly donations to FamilyWorks and partners like Toby Joseph of Tacoma, focused on feeding Indigenous Peoples, not to mention our scholarship families who have fresh produce delivered each week. We are a small business, looking to share the abundance of some, with the community, as a whole. And we are fortunate to have you be a part of this. Thank you! #CommunityFood #SeattleIsReadyForChange #FreshIsTheBest #JonTheFarmerSeattle Limited Summer CSA Shares - Now Available!

Jon is one of the most devoted and doting fathers I have ever known. He is also one of the hardest working men, with a heart of gold. He does his best to be a good example of working on balancing the tough talks needed in our world right now, while learning as he goes. He strives to serve the world while he serves his family. #TheKidsGotAGoodOne #DadsAreRad #ILuckedOutForSure #5050MakingItHappen #ModernMan #JonTheFarmerSeattle #SeattleIsReadyForChange #CommunityFood
