Now's your chance to place an order for a delivery of tomato starts tomorrow Friday, May 7th, between 11a-2pm - to your North Seattle destination!!
We are offering each person one (1) gallon Sungold + four additional 4-inch potted starts of your choice for $30* (because the Sungolds are so popular, we are limiting one (1) 4-inch pot per person, to be fair ) Please reach out with the 4-varieties (in addition to the 1-gallon Sungold) you would like and your address. We will then send a Paypal request to confirm your order! Below is a summary of each variety available: BLACK KRIM- Russian Heirloom Combines bold, smoky flavor and good texture with an unusual appearance. Deep brown/red, 8-16 oz. tomatoes have brown/green shoulders that get darker with more heat and sunlight. High yielding. Indeterminate. USDA Certified Organic. SUNGOLD Intense fruity flavor. Exceptionally sweet, bright tangerine-orange cherry tomatoes leave everyone begging for more. Vigorous plants start yielding early and bear right through the season. Tendency to split precludes shipping, making these an exclusively fresh-market treat. The taste can't be beat. 15-20 gm. fruits. High resistance to fusarium wilt and tobacco mosaic virus. Indeterminate SAN MARZANO High-quality strain of this classic heirloom paste tomato. Long vines produce abundant yields of bright, red, 3" 5-6oz plum shaped fruit over a long season. BRANDYWINE BLEND Brandywine is the heirloom tomato that launched the flavor in tomatoes movement. Balanced, deep flavor, with perfect hints of acid. Indeterminate BEEFSTEAK HEIRLOOM Beefsteak Blends are grown for their flavor and size for slicing and summer sandwiches. These assorted varieties produce large, meaty red heirloom fruit over a long season on indeterminate plants For those of you that may have already placed and order, or stopped by our table - thank you!! In the meantime, be sure to keep your eyes out for future starts offerings, such as lettuces, greens, squash, zucchini and more!! Thank you Jessica for the great picture from last year's start growth!! #SeattleGrown #FromSeedToYou #GrowYourOwnFood See Less

Thanks for everyone who preordered and/or stopped by our starts sale yesterday - was wonderful to connect with community!! Below are some Tips for Top Tomatoes!
1. Patience is key –transplant your tomato starts when the evenings are 50-degrees or higher at night, consistently. If that hasn’t happened, place the tomato start in a sunny location outdoors, then bring inside in the evenings OR if you have a cloche, you can go ahead and plant away! 2. Prune – prune the first set of flowers and any runner shoots. This will allow initial energy to be focused down into the root, which will result in a stronger, longer lasting harvest time 3. Go Deep – dig a deep hole and dry-fit the plant so that the lowest branch is 1.5 inches from soil level 4. Add nutrients – add a Tbsp of Epsom salt (magnesium) to the bottom of the hole 5. Water, water, water – fill the deep hole with water, up to the top! Let it drain (this can take up to 20-minutes). If you have some time, it would great to repeat this step twice! 6. Transfer - the start is now ready to go into the ground, fill with soil and intention 7. Pollination – pollination is the name of the game. If your planting site does not have pollinators present (or perhaps not many), tap the flowers lightly for 5-10 seconds to allow for the plant to self-pollinate 8. Maintenance watering – once plant is established, water deeply once every 4-days (or so). Allow your plant to experience drought-stress, as this will create a more robust root system Feel free to reach out with further questions and remember: share your abundance! #GrowYourOwnFood #SharingIsCaring #CommunityMindfulness Today, May 1st, 10a-1p - stop by to purchase some organically-grown tomato starts, fresh eggs and CSA delivery gift certificates.
