Spread the word to your North Seattle and Puyallup friends!! We are approaching our final days of open registration for the full 18-week 2022 CSA Season.
We are true mom and pop small food growers, with both small spaces throughout North Seattle, as well as a larger growing space in Puyallup. We partner with fellow small food growers, Meadow Moss and Spring Hill farms, as well as Lagana Foods artisanal pasta, to ensure each week is abundant, varied and the freshest of fresh! Not to mention during the season we contribute weekly to FamilyWorks food bank, thanks to our CSA member's support. So, something pretty sweet happened....you know how we held our seed share last month, and you know how we are always talking about getting kids involved in growing food? Well, one of the participants, Rachel, sent along these awesome pics of Lucy & Ellie. Look at those faces and those labels and those sprouts!!! #KidsGrowFoodToo #GrowFoodForAll #NiceMomWork     'check out our updated logo - cause we want our friends at #MeadowMoss and #SpringHill farms to have some love, too!  So as many of you know, we are using organic mushrooms for our compost. Look what popped up - so beautiful and beneficial!! And while we are talking about mushrooms - reserve some time to check out this great movie - "Fantastic Fungi" on Netflix  While there is certainly something to be said for new technology and modern practices - there is a LOT that needs no re-invention! Sometimes it's good to remember from where our collective ideas originate and to take advantage of the tried and true. #TriedAndTrue #VintageGardeningBooks #YouDORememberVictoryGardensRight  One of our favorite mom-n-pop shops to go to for seeds, compost and just an all-around friendly vibe is Walt's Organic Fertilizer Co. in Magnolia. There you'll likely run into the owners, Walt & Jane working the till or loading up vehicles. BTW - they're looking for some help, so if you know anyone looking for a job that enjoys gardening and helping people learn about it, pass along the word.
