Good morning!! ICYMI we sent out our PreSale folks an email with some tips in preparation for today's doorstep delivery....
Jon is just finishing up getting your starts ready for doorstep delivery today between 9a-2pm A few things we wanted to mention: Please be patient - wait to transplant your tomato starts until the night time temperatures are consistently 50 degrees or higher - this will be best for production. To note, your starts have been hardened off, but allowing them sometime outside, out of the ground is a great idea. For those of you that may be new to growing your own tomatoes - take a moment to watch the video posted on Instagram and Facebook on Wednesday (link to these are in the email, too). If you are interested in using Jon's recipe for your soil, here you go: 3 Tbsp - spent coffee grounds 2 Tbsp - pulverized egg shells 2 Tbsp - Epsom salt 3 Tbsp - worm castings a few bits of seaweed (if you have it) make sure your hole is dug deep and fill it up to the top with water! Remember that every growing environment is different, so what may work for us or your friend 5 miles away, may not be the best for your yard (or deck's) micro-climate. We're here to be as helpful as possible - so feel free to email questions and if we don't know the answers, we'll work hard to find out who does... Alright....let's get this growing going!!

Last week Jon did the first overnight in the greenhouse for our various starts. Remember to get the hardening off process going slowly for the best production and health of your tomatoes. 🍅🍅🍅🍅 #TomatoTime #UrbanFarmer #Gardening #GrowFood
Roly polies are beneficial! They help the soil by increasing the speed of decomposition, turning the organic matter into the soil faster, and ultimately aiding plant growth. #MotherNatureRocks #UrbanFarmer #JonTheFarmerSeattle
Just in - we are excited to announce we are now able to accept SNAP for the purchase of seeds, starts, and fresh produce!! This is a great step in the direction of connecting more people to fresh food.
#SNAPBenefits #GrowFood #CommunityIsMadeOfAllOfUs #FreshFoodBelongsToEveryone We asked and y'all replied - we found a great baker in Ballard. We are sooo excited to now be offering #TallGrassBakery goods as weekly add-ons to our CSA and FreshList member's share.
More partner goods coming around the corner!! #SupportSmallBakers #BallardFresh #SeattleCSA |
