Thankful for friends like Les McGuire - appreciate your support in getting seeds going and talking green houses and fixing electrical stuffs and ... the list grows and grows. You're a true friend to us, and to help you provide us, helps the larger community, too!

From time to time, when I find myself stuck in a scarcity mindset, it helps to take a moment to breathe, focus on gratitude and remember that the more we help one another the better everyone does.
Growing food and sharing abundance can help. What works for you? How do you get outside of your mind?

Refrigeration Nation

On today's episode of "How Does He Do It?", Jon's got two refrigeration projects going at the same time! Working on our beautiful beast, Larry Potter, and the walk-in fridge space that will be adjacent to our processing station. These projects are in addition to the green house being in its final stages of getting the passive heating system going, seeds having been put in the soil, fruit trees are now planted.... Next year, he won't know what to do with himself!
*also pictured, the start of some philosophical artwork from the girl (ended up being a whale, then a shark, then a big fig fish, then a person - you get the picture) that was ultimately removed so insulation could be placed, but you gotta keep the kids engaged, so....

Spread the word to your North Seattle and Puyallup friends!! We are approaching our final days of open registration for the full 18-week 2022 CSA Season.
We are true mom and pop small food growers, with both small spaces throughout North Seattle, as well as a larger growing space in Puyallup. We partner with fellow small food growers, Meadow Moss and Spring Hill farms, as well as Lagana Foods artisanal pasta, to ensure each week is abundant, varied and the freshest of fresh! Not to mention during the season we contribute weekly to FamilyWorks food bank, thanks to our CSA member's support.
Take a look at our website and FB page to learn more about us and what we do or email us with your questions. And we hope you'll sign up for a share while you're at it! You will not be disappointed!!

While there is certainly something to be said for new technology and modern practices - there is a LOT that needs no re-invention! Sometimes it's good to remember from where our collective ideas originate and to take advantage of the tried and true.

Walts Organic for the Win!

One of our favorite mom-n-pop shops to go to for seeds, compost and just an all-around friendly vibe is Walt's Organic Fertilizer Co. in Magnolia. There you'll likely run into the owners, Walt & Jane working the till or loading up vehicles.
BTW - they're looking for some help, so if you know anyone looking for a job that enjoys gardening and helping people learn about it, pass along the word.
In the meantime, stop by and mention we sent you their way!
